Encouraging Diversity and Inclusivity in STEM

We are passionate about promoting engineering and other STEM professions within our industry. We do this through both STEM workshops and events, and by supporting diversity and inclusivity in the STEM community.

The Tilly Shilling Initiative (TSI) are passionate about promoting engineering and other STEM professions within our industry. We do this through both STEM workshops and events, and by supporting diversity and inclusivity in the STEM community.

We do this by focusing on promoting STEM within the community, to show that is it a viable career choice for anyone! This includes, but is not limited to school visits, workshops and events. As professionals within the engineering industry, we want to use our position to inspire and engage everyone into a STEM career.

In addition, we want to encourage other STEM professionals to consider how they can embrace diversity and inclusion. We've done this previously with the 'STEM the Gap' event we held in 2019 to discuss diversity and inclusion in engineering through speakers, panel discussions and workshops. We want to expand on these types of events in the future. By doing this, we hope to have a positive effect on changing the perception of the STEM industry.

We are continuously looking for new and innovative ways to promote STEM and encourage people to pursue a career in STEM. If you are interested in getting involved or want to know more about what we do, please get in touch by emailing tsi.events@the-mtc.org.
