** All, please first try to book using the IMechE ticket and online account system (not just for IMechE members); if you have trouble, please get in touch with a committee member via one of the 'Send a message' links under Contact Details below
-
There's no need to print and bring your 'ticket' (despite what the system may say); instead, you'll need to bring one of the following (other forms of ID can be accepted; if necessary, please contact us for further details):
> Valid international passport
> UK driving licence (photographic)
> Residency card (photographic)
> Naturalisation card (photographic)
-
To book, you'll need to provide your full name, company name (or 'retired'), and nationality. Nationalities of the following countries are welcome but will need to book by 10 August; for other nationalities the deadline is 24 August:
> China (includes Tibet, Hong Kong & Macau)
> Russia
> Iran
> North Korea
> Belarus
> Syria
> Ukraine

Finally, directions can be found here; please follow those (beware just using the postcode) for the Lloyds Bank Advanced Manufacturing Training Centre - turn left at the last roundabout for the car park of the white building (to the left of the lake beyond that roundabout)
-
Access can also be gained via Coombe Fields Road, but you may need to use the intercom to get the barrier opened; via this route, the building is on your left as you approach the roundabout
-
Please note that for safety reasons the site has a reverse parking policy (for spaces that aren't drive-through) - reverse in for better visibility when driving out

Speaker:

Phil Peel, a Fellow of the Institution, took office as President on 25th May 2022 as IMechE celebrates the 175th anniversary of its foundation in 1847. Phil began his career in steam turbines with GEC in Rugby, moving with the company (by then Alstom; now GE) to Switzerland in the early 2000s.
